Weigh in

89.9kg this week so another 0.5kg dispensed with.
However, the week hasn't started too well - On Monday night, I was out for dinner with work (although I did resist pudding). Tuesday I was in the office, so I didn't have time to do the big shop and had no food in, which resulted in a kebab for tea. Wednesday - I ate a huge bowl of pasta for tea. Not an ideal start to the week and so this morning, I was a little worried about the effect on my weight and decided to step on the scales to assess the damage. To my shock, I lost 3kg since Monday - 86.9kg. I'm guessing that I must be very dehydrated after my long ride yesterday.
It sounds very sad but I'm now weighing everything I eat and putting it into to food diary. I realised that the two cups of hot blackcurrant I had yesterday cost me 250 calories!!
Joe has set me a target of 84-86kg by the Cheshire Cat Sportive in about 8 weeks. I'm feeling quite positive about reaching that. My evening dress is still not zipping up - that needs to fit by 21st Feb!

Hi,

I just found your blog. Its a great ride, thanks. I'm also doing the Etape this year. Good look with the training and the weight loss. I'm finding the diet harder than the miles but I know it will pay dividens when I'm trying to get over Hardknott in May and Ventoux in July.

Cheers, Simon.

HI Simon, Thanks for your message. I've had a little success on the weight loss front but it isn't easy. You'd think that after cycling for hours on end, you would be able to eat whatever you bloody well wanted to!
How's it going for you?
Karen

It went really well for a while but now I've increased the amount of excercise, I'm stuggling to eat helthily. I seem to be always hungry and rather than eating more apples and carotts, I have been naughty. I find it much harder than the actual riding.
